Pledge for the Brain Charity's Report

There are more than 600 different neurological conditions affecting the brain, spine or nervous system. Many are well-known, such as epilepsy, stroke, dementia, brain injury and autism. There are also hundreds of conditions that only affect an unlucky few.

The Brain Charity's new report, "It’s all in your head", shines a light on the experiences of people with neurological conditions through their journey to diagnosis. At the launch, I pledged my support those with neurological conditions.

Receiving a diagnosis is lengthy, stressful and lonely - too often getting a diagnosis goes hand-in-hand with worsening mental health.

For too many people, delays and a lack of information and support exacerbate what is already a harrowing journey. We must do all that is possible to end the isolation, fear and helplessness that plights the lives of those with a neurological condition.
