September is #WorldAlzheimer'sMonth and an important opportunity to highlight the work going on by charities such as Alzheimer's Research UK to secure a world free from the harm and heartbreak of dementia and Alzheimer's.
At an event yesterday in Parliament, I met leading campaigners, scientists and people with lived experience of dementia and Alzheimer's. This was a welcome opportunity to discuss and learn more about the latest progress on the new dementia treatments that have been hitting the headlines recently.
I have been a longstanding Dementia Research Champion, pledging my support for people living with dementia and other degenerative brain disorders and conditions.
Local community activists and campaigners should be applauded in helping to reverse the scourge of dementia and Alzheimer's.
Enough is enough, we all agree that it's time for a cure. Let us hope for a world free from the plight of dementia and Alzheimer's.
