British Dental Associations Meeting

Access to NHS Dentists continues to be a campaign of interest for many. We continue to fight tooth and nail for improvements to NHS provisions locally.

At the Westminster gathering with the Association of Dental Groups, I recognised the work of many to alleviate the pressure on the UK’s dental workforce. They recognised my longstanding work in support of improving access to dental care.

It is a longstanding issue brought on by contract changes under Tony Blair and Labour in 2006, worsened and brought to public attention during the Covid-19 Pandemic.

We appreciate progress in recent years. Constituents can already appreciate positive changes in the provision of emergency services. Further work is needed to increase provision, change contracting and streamline recruitment. Constituents deserve good service.

I am pleased to go on working with Government and Dentistry Associations to improve dental services locally. Ministers are supportive. We anticipate good news soon.
